Digital Scrapbooking Magazine to Cease Publication

And, another scrapbook publication falls victim to the poor economy and the shrinking scrapbook market...

CK Media VP/Editorial Director Lin Sorenson announced today that the Feb/March 2009 issue of Digital Scrapbook Magazine (on newstands Jan. 6th) will be the publication's last print issue. According to Sorenson, CK Media is "evaluating more cost-effective ways to deliver relevant content to our tech-savvy audience, via web site and newsletter as well as possible digital delivery options."

All of the brand's staff have been "reduced" except for Jennafer Martin, who continues in her role as the Digital Scrapbooking Magazine brand's Editor in Chief, and Renee Pearson, who continues as Associate Editor.

Regarding what will become of subscriptions to the magazine, CK Media had this to say:

Current subscriptions will be honored, and will be filled with CK Media product. More information about subscriptions will be available by the end of December, 2008. Information about subscriptions and other topics will be posted on the web site as information becomes available.  After December, if you have questions about your subscription, customer service information will be available at the number listed in the magazine.

Digital Scrapbooking Magazine published four paper issues, before being purchased by CK Media from founder April Anderton (who continued with the publication for CK Media) in August 2006. Digital Scrapbooking Magazine then published its first issue for CK Media in February 2007.

Sincerest best wishes to all of the talented Digital Scrapbooking Magazine staff who are out of work today...may they all find new positions soon.

Edited to Add: April Anderton published a statement this afternoon on her blog about the magazine's ceasing print issues.
