Is Personal Branding As We Know It Dead?

Is personal branding as we’ve traditionally known it dead? Some well-known web 2.0 personalities think so.

What does this have to do with scrapbooking? Being a scrapbook industry celebrity – arguably a key component in commercial success as a designer/instructor/signature product line – is all about successful personal branding.

At a recent MediaBistro.com panel in New York, Julia Allison, Loren Feldman and Gary Vaynerchuk talked (among other things) about how new media is turning traditional PR on its head and leveling the playing field in the area of personal branding.

    Personal branding isn’t dead. Loren’s message is that you will succeed if you be yourself (and stay human). Personal branding is all about being yourself and presenting it to the world. I think that he has a different definition of personal branding than the rest of us.
