Thinking of starting a blog? Read this first.

If you are thinking of starting a blog for business purposes, Darren Rowse (co-author of the recent book ProBlogger) has a guest post up today on his blog by Reem Abeidoh that you should read. Abeidoh is a social media strategist for a PR/marketing firm in St. Louis. Her piece is titled A Guide To Corporate Blogging, and it is the most complete guide to the basics of the topic I think I’ve seen online.

And if you weren’t thinking of starting a blog for your company, store or freelance endeavors, I highly recommend that you read Abeidoh’s piece and then consider it. Blogging is a low-cost, high-return method of engaging in marketing and PR, and you are missing out on a high quality tool if you aren’t using it.
