Call For Claims Issued in Junkitz Bankruptcy

Although there was expected to be no assets available for unsecured creditors to receive payment for claims in the Junkitz liquidation, the bankruptcy trustee notified the court on January 15th that there has been an unexpected recovery of assets for the company. The amount of the recovery was not stipulated in the notification.

Accordingly, the court has issued a call for the filing of proof of claims now that it appears that there will be at least some assets to potentially reimburse creditors with. The deadline for filing proof of claims owed to creditors is April 14th, 2008.

According to the order, claims need to be filed using this form and sent to the clerk of the bankruptcy court. I believe the address is: James J. Waldron, Clerk, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 402 East State Street Trenton, NJ 08608.  The Junkitz case number, required on the form, is 07−28826−KCF.

Any questions regarding the filing of claims should probably be directed to the bankruptcy trustee:

Other action taken by the trustee this week included filing requests to the court for the hiring of an attorney and an accountant to assist him in the liquidation of Junkitz.

No further action was taken recently on the Panassidi’s personal bankruptcy since they have until February to complete the filing in that case.

Scrapbook Update will continue to provide information on these cases when it is merited.
