CK Clarifies Hall of Fame Photo Rules for 2008

Creating Keepsakes has added an addendum to the their online posting of the 2008 Hall of Fame contest rules, clarifying the rules stipulation that  “Entries, including photos, must be the sole work of the entrant. Heritage photos are permissible.” Hopefully this clarification will assist those planning to enter the 2008 contest in ensuring that their entry adheres to the intent of the rules.

Tips on Photography Requirements
The 2008 Hall of Fame rules specify that “Entries, including photographs, must be the sole work of the entrant. Heritage photos are permissible.” “Heritage photos” are defined for this contest as photos that were taken at least 10 years ago at the time the contest closes, i.e., February 11, 1998. All non-heritage photos must be taken by the entrant. Should a contestant wish to include of photo of himself or herself on an entry layout, the photo must be taken by the contestant.

I believe this falls under the heading “Live and Learn.” ;)
It’s too bad the rules were not more specific for 2007, as in “Photos sumbitted as part of a layout that are not eligible for Heritage status, or that were not taken by the entrant, will result in disqualification of the entry.”
I am curious, did last year’s contest entry rules include requiring the entrant to sign a statement that the entrant had read and understood, and had followed, all the rules?

Wow. I found out about your site after reading Angie’s. I’m shocked. Being away did me A LOT OF GOOD…but i am still angry about the industry and the “cheating” that happens everyday. It’s shameful, huh? Now, I ‘m not saying i agree that she “cheated” as far as the HOF is concerned, i don’t know enough about it to dertmine if it was or was not. But i will say that i do not think a lot of things are on the up and up in the SB industry…at all. Which is one of the main reasons I chose to hang my designs at the door:) Thanks for this blog and helping me to stay informed!!!
